Erin's Story
When Erin was diagnosed for the first time with Breast cancer her daughter had just turned 1. She had a baby, ran her own pet grooming business, and had to go through a harsh regiment of treatments. Her friends, family, clients, and even acquaintances all stepped up to help. Erin was so grateful and overwhelmed with all of the love and support. She began thinking about how she could pay back all of that support by paying it forward. That’s where the idea for Erin’s Angels began.
Erin was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer about a year after finishing her treatment for the original cancer. She battled stage 4 Breast cancer for a little over 5 years. Through it all she was an amazing mother to her daughter. She worked so hard to take care of her health, be a great mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend, boss, co-worker and always showed so much love to all of her four legged clients.
Through her stage 4 support groups Erin learned of the struggles other mothers dealing with metastatic breast cancer were faced with. As hard as her situation was, she had a strong support system that she felt lucky to have. She created this charity as a way of giving some help to other moms like her that needed it.
To know Erin was to love her. She was so grateful for the outpouring of love and support she got from so many people. It’s because of all of that love that we are able to pay it forward on her behalf. Thanks to everyone that has helped us get this organization up and running. We are forever grateful that we get to continue Erin’s work.
